What this site is

Dasjen Cistin publishes original recipes, cooking notes, and short essays about Irish farmhouse cooking. There is nothing for sale here: no products, no subscriptions, no payment screen of any kind. It exists purely as a place to read about food.

Permission to read and cook

You are welcome to read every recipe, follow it in your own kitchen, print a copy for your own use, and tell a friend about a dish you liked. That is exactly what the site is for.

What you may not do

• Copy whole recipes, articles, or photographs and republish them elsewhere as your own work.
• Scrape, mirror, or bulk download the site with automated tools.
• Use the site, or anything on it, in a way that is unlawful or that tries to interfere with how it runs.
• Present any part of this site as coming from a different publisher or business.

Ownership of the content

The recipes, the writing around them, the layout, and the site design belong to the operator of Dasjen Cistin, except where a specific photograph is credited to a third party source. A short quote with a link back to the original page is fine. Reposting a recipe wholesale is not.

No promise of identical results

Cooking depends on your oven, your ingredients, your altitude, and a hundred small variables we cannot see from here. Times, temperatures, and yields on this site are our best guidance, not a fixed promise. If a coddle needs ten extra minutes in your kitchen, that is normal, not a defect in the recipe.
